PSP now supports 23.97, 24, 29,97 and 30 fps

I am not going to pretend this is straight forward, but if you want to get the most out of your PSP and memory card, learning how to encode using x264, megui, besweet and batch processing of atomchanger.exe is vital.

always check this thread for the latest versions
from there, download avisynth, x264, DGMPGDec 1.41 or higher and mp4box.

also, virtualdubmod is always handy to demux audio from an avi:

some vital info to know before we start.


the resolution the psp handles for 16:9 (widescreen) is 368x208 and 4:3 is 320x240.

before your mp4 file will play, it needs to be run through atomchanger (thanks sony!)

If you download the standard x264 package from sharktooth, it will contain profiles, one of which is a psp profile.
